Jersey Club’s undisputed queen is officially ushering in a lethal new era. UNIIQU3 just dropped her latest single, “Calling My Name,” and it is everything we want blasting out of our speakers right now. The track serves as the second heavy hitter from her fiercely anticipated debut album, following hot on the heels of her May single “Mile High Club,” which has already been tearing up the airwaves.
Due this autumn via the always reliable Local Action label, the upcoming LP marks a massive homecoming. It’s her first major project with the imprint since 2021, when her Heartbeats EP and the historic, Grammy-longlisted single “Microdosing” blew the roof off the industry. That era launched UNIIQU3 onto Times Square billboards, the cover of DJ Mag, and straight onto the runways of Versace and Fenty. Since then, her trajectory has been unstoppable: touring with Tinashe, opening for Beyoncé’s Renaissance world tour, going platinum as a co-writer for Chlöe, and endlessly spreading the Jersey Club gospel globally.
For “Calling My Name,” UNIIQU3 teamed up with a certified club dream team. Atlanta-based heavyweight producer Leonce (Night Slugs, Fabric Originals) lays down a flawless, percussive foundation, while the legendary Cakes Da Killa steps up to the mic, delivering the sharp, commanding lyricism that has kept them at rap’s cutting edge for over a decade. The result is a track that moves between raw electronic sweat and slick, sensual sophistication.
“‘Calling My Name’ is that dreamy, sensual song that embodies the moment you hit the dance floor and have that main character moment. Lyrically the words aim to hypnotize you… I knew that Cakes da Killa was the perfect person to feature on this because their voice has so much command. Leonce is an amazing producer—I’m a part of the Leonce Hive because there isn’t a DJ set I go without playing one of their productions.” — UNIIQU3
With a full summer of releases still ahead, this album is shaping up to be UNIIQU3’s most ambitious, uncompromising work yet. Hit play, get hypnotised, and claim your own main character moment.
