Midnight Call is a collaboration between fashion photographer Federico Di Mambro and fashion accessory designer Nareg Krikorian, exploring body identity in the relationship between fashion accessories and gender throughout an introspective late-night encounter. A KALTBLUT exclusive.
As an extension of Federico’s previous work, the series uses fashion tools of both digital and physical distortion to provoke the viewer and suggest the plurality of the self, the fluidity between masculine and feminine, the shifting definition of reality and its elusive importance in an always more digitalised era.
Federico Di Mambro is an Italian fashion photographer based in London. There he completed his studies in Film Production and a Master’s in Fashion Photography. As a mix of both subjects, Federico’s practice mainly revolves around cinematic self-portrait photography, in which he studies the human body and subconscious in relation to gender identity and society, often using elements of physical and digital distortion to challenge the objectivity of reality. Most of his studies are triggered by the contrasting different worlds he lives in: the most religious and conservative little hometown in central Italy versus the futuristic avant-garde city of London.
Nareg Krikorian is a creative maker, with an eye for inspiring stories told through crafts. As an aspiring designer and maker, Nareg’s passions intersect between graphic arts and accessory designs. Mixing the two-dimensional world of shapes and colours, with three-dimensional forms and materials, however possible. One of Nareg’s lines of fashion accessories is Godo.
Godo explores the bold and contemporary side of fashion and accessory design. Finding inspiration in the accessory archetypes and their purposes, Godo aims to inject a fresh and purposefully exaggerated feel into today’s dynamic design industry. The essence of the brand comes from a personal obsession with leather artisanship. Choosing to respect the craft and the material together, Godo’s pieces prioritize slow and quality processes and methods in assembly. Focusing primarily on left-over leather scraps scattered in leather ateliers in Lebanon, the collections adapt according to the availability of the material. All products are made by hand with the finest genuine leather cuts.
