Sydney-based producer and Trackwork founder Utility announces his debut album, Futures, set to drop on 21st October, along with the first single, ‘Ora Siamo Noi’. This haunting electronic rap track unites Australian-Italian artist DoloRRes (Cherry Chola, JUPiTA) and French pioneer Brodinski (Yeezus, 21 Savage), drawing on underground club aesthetics.

‘Ora Siamo Noi’ exemplifies UTILITY’s local-to-global collaborative ethos and signals a creative turning point. The album blends experimental composition, underground rap, and contemporary club music, crafted through exchanges among artists from Sydney, Kampala, Durban, Paris, Rome, and Los Angeles. Featuring close collaborators like Vv Pete, MC Yallah, and emerging talents such as Baakio and Matek, Futures explores unconventional fusions across regional underground scenes.

DoloRRes’s ethereal vocals create a captivating tension amidst low frequencies, repeating the refrain “Ora siamo noi”—Italian for “now it’s us.” The track’s layered bass creates momentum through friction, enveloped in suspended harmonies that reflect a blend of movement and stillness.

Lyrically, ‘Ora Siamo Noi’ intertwines spiritual imagery with themes of radical acceptance amidst societal collapse, challenging the dread typically associated with apocalyptic narratives. “It’s a religious apocalyptic event bringing upon a new generation,” says DoloRRes, “those who inherit the earth must inherit all that comes with it.”

“UTILITY has this unique way of reuniting people together and making it work”, adds Brodinski.

The experimental visualizer, shot between Rome and Paris, features striking contrasts of classic architecture and contemporary life, creating a minimalist digital aesthetic that mirrors the music’s hypnotic layering.

‘Ora Siamo Noi’ serves as an invitation into the expansive sonic landscape of Futures, where collaboration remains central. Accompanied by a 20-minute album visualizer created with artist Elia Bosshard and cover art from Coen Young, this project extends a rich audio-visual tapestry that emanates from the heart of Sydney.
