The inspiration came from a visit at Amsterdam’s Stedelijk Museum where Dutch painter, Piet Mondrian’s most renowned work was shown. His paintings like Victory Boogie Woogie, New York City 1, and Composition 2 in Red, Blue and Yellow, made me redefine the use of primary colours. The colours red, blue and yellow create a certain power. Because of mixing them you can create all colours, basically. And that makes each of the primary colours so unique. So this shoot actually is a tribute to Piet Mondrian and the primary colours.” says Valerie Caroline.
