The French-Iranian dark wave duo Salvaation are making waves today with the release of their captivating music video for “LOOP,” the standout opening track from their debut self-titled EP, now available across all streaming platforms. This immersive visual experience captures the thrilling essence of their live performances, thanks to atmospheric effects and dynamic edits that draw viewers into their world.
The video features striking close-ups of the electrifying lead singer Meshcut, whose intense yet vulnerable presence intensifies the emotional depth of the track. “LOOP” is a sonic tapestry woven with reverb-laden guitar tremolos, ethereal synth chords, a hypnotic arpeggiated riff, and industrial drum hits, all paying homage to the duo’s 80s dark wave influences while propelling the sound into uncharted territories.
Despite being a fresh project, Salvaation is backed by the seasoned talents of Oui Future (Christine Guin) and Meshcut (Meshkat Mosavat), whose artistic journeys have been anything but ordinary. Meshcut’s ascent within the European alternative music scene began in her native Iran, where she cultivated a vibrant underground presence with two separate projects, leading to her eventual relocation to Istanbul and then Paris. There, she formed the band Stereotype, which garnered attention with impressive performances at renowned festivals like Reeperbahn and Pop-Kultur.
In contrast, Oui Future is no stranger to the music scene. With roots in the French Riot Grrl movement of the early 90s, she fronted influential bands such as Moontruck, X Syndicate, and Flaming Pussy. Known for her electronic experimentation, she also plays a vital role at Rosa Bonheur sur Seine, a boat venue that regularly hosts queer and lesbian nights. It was in this vibrant environment that she crossed paths with Meshcut, igniting a creative partnership that seamlessly blends their musical aesthetics.

Reflecting on their instant connection, Meshcut shares, “I was scouting venues for concerts, and Oui Future was the artistic director. One day, I noticed a photo of Depeche Mode in her studio—my favourite band. From that moment, we clicked. Our shared love for the 80s and its vibrant styles has shaped our collaborative sound.”
Since their meeting, the duo has been industrious, releasing an EP under the short-lived project Teherean 69 in 2025, where Oui Future contributed her talents in arrangement, mix, and mastering. However, with the launch of their self-titled Salvaation EP, the duo basks in the spotlight as a cohesive unit.
Their debut features four mesmerising tracks that effortlessly balance emotional depth with nostalgia. By blending the pulsating energy of club beats and the dark disco vibes of 80s goth subgenres, Salvaation sets a new standard for contemporary alternative electronic music in Europe. Prepare to be enchanted—Salvaation is poised to redefine the landscape of dark wave music.
