“This editorial is a visual exploration of queer womanhood, celebrating our shared and individual identities that shape how we exist in the world. We drew from Lois’ lived experience as a Black queer woman, and our mutual love of colour, self-expression, and the joy we find in fashion as a tool for identity building and play.
Working with an entirely FLINTA team, we wanted to embrace the duality of softness and boldness – the desire to be seen, to take up space, and to move fluidly between different parts of our identities. Each look is an elevated extension of Lois’ distinct personal style, and every outfit was sourced from independent, emerging and predominantly FLINTA designers, grounding the editorial in community and intention. Together, the images reflect the colour, creativity, and fearless individuality of the London queer scene; a world that thrives on expression and refuses to be muted.
We used the colour pink throughout the story to reclaim it as a powerful, confrontational, and proudly femme colour. It became a statement rather than a stereotype — super femme, deeply queer, and entirely unapologetic!”
