Americano Doble serves as a continuation and expansion of its predecessor, Americano, which consisted of eight bilingual tracks celebrating fourteen years of immigrant life in the United States. This compelling work garnered attention from notable publications like Rolling Stone, Billboard, Rollacoaster, and Galore, with seven tracks receiving their own music videos. In contrast, Americano Doble paints a fuller portrait of Baby Yors’ sonic landscape.

The album incorporates six new tracks, co-produced with the talented Mati Mora, known for his work with artists such as Chappel Roan and Linkin Park. This collaboration blends Baby Yors’ experimental soul with Mora’s pop sensibilities, resulting in an intriguing exploration of sound. The opening track, “Don’t Sue Me,” introduces a raw energy, while “Positiva” shifts the dynamic effortlessly. “Ropa Vieja” finds itself at the bilingual intersection, and tracks like “Easy Pills (In The House)” and “Freak Out the People” maintain an engaging tension, culminating in the reflective “Colorada.” Together with the original eight tracks, Americano Doble leads listeners to where it has always meant to go.
Marco Palou’s journey began in Jujuy, Argentina, before he embarked on a path that would lead him to New York City in his late teens. Initially focused on survival, his experience evolved into an intimate relationship with American culture, ultimately shaping his identity and artistry. “I have always sung, directed videos, danced, acted, and painted,” he reflects. “If Americano is a reflection of anything, it’s of the self-taught lessons I’ve had to learn by living away from my birthland, slowly becoming less and less of a stranger in what is indeed a very strange, and magical place.”
Marco also addressed the main stage at SXSW 2026 on the topic of Art as Identity in a Jobless Future, establishing himself as a significant voice in the conversation. Additionally, he has been recognised as one of the Out100 and serves as a UN Ambassador.
Baby Yors is the creative sanctuary of Marco Palou, an Argentine-born multidisciplinary artist currently weaving his narrative between Los Angeles and New York. Engaging with a spectrum of art forms—from music to visual art, film, and writing—he continues to push boundaries. His visual work, particularly the series Los Diablos, draws inspiration from the Carnaval traditions of northern Argentina. As a director, he has clinched numerous awards at international film festivals and has been featured extensively across media, earning accolades from Rolling Stone to Forbes. Notably, Out Magazine has heralded him as one of the 100 Most Influential LGBTQ+ People in the World, alongside the anticipation for his forthcoming book, Homo Artis: A Manifesto for Creation in the Age of .
Americano Doble stands as a testament to Marco Palou’s artistic evolution—definitely our sound of the week.
