The duo has come a long way since their childhood friendship, where they bonded over a shared passion for music—CA7RIEL with his guitar and Paco with his violin. In 2011, they formed Astor, a progressive rock band that laid the foundation for their future collaborations. Fast-forward to 2019, and they debuted as a duo, effortlessly blending genres and marking themselves as prominent voices of a new generation with hits like “OUKE” and “JALA JALA.”

In 2024, they released their first full-length album, BAÑO MARÍA, which showcased a more organic, musically richer side during their celebrated Tiny Desk Concert for NPR. Following this, the release of PAPOTA, accompanied by a short film, demonstrated a continuous evolution in their sonic identity.

In 2025, the duo’s whirlwind year included the PAPOTA Tour, with over 60 performances across four continents. They graced the stages of some of the biggest festivals, including Coachella and Glastonbury, and made their U.S. television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Their standout performance at Coachella, where they joined Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Philharmonic, has become one of the festival’s most memorable moments.

PAPOTA also brought the duo their first GRAMMY® win in February for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album and culminated in an incredible sweep at the 26th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Awards. With a record-breaking 10 nominations—the most for any Argentine project in a single year—they secured five major awards, including Best Alternative Music Album and Best Pop Song.
