“The past few months have been rather strange. Mask-covered faces. Queues to wash hands in public bathrooms. Places that were once plagued by over-tourism are now deserted. The spread of the virus has suddenly brought all usual life – and travel – to a halt. Instead, each one of us has been forced to stay in our countries and explore the surroundings of our hometowns. Based in Bangkok in normal days, I got stuck in the small city in Russia where I grew up and lived until I was 16. Coincidently, my classmate who I haven’t seen since high school and now lives in Seoul has been in Penza for the lockdown as well. Together thanks to this pandemic, we got the chance to know each other better and get creative in our city.”
