“A new version of you doesn’t arrive all at once. It starts with a choice, then another, until the body begins to feel like home again. In this shoot, the dress is not a costume, but proof that we can rewrite what we were told to be. There is a courage that doesn’t announce itself. It arrives in the space between a zipper closing and a mirror, met with open eyes.
The silhouettes fall long and architectural, even gothic in the medieval sense, where the cathedral is pointed upward in defiance of gravity itself. The styling carries the fingerprints of something older than trend. Think memento mori made wearable. Think the lace of a funeral that doubles as a wedding. The clothes mourn nothing; they celebrate the parts of the self that were asked to stay silent.
This is not a story about gender. It is a story about the moment a person stops dressing for the comfort of rooms they have already left and begins, instead, to dress for the life they are still building. The dress, here, is architecture – a structure erected not around the body, but for it. What we were told to be has a very specific wardrobe. This shoot arrives wearing something else entirely.”
