“This collection will draw upon various drawings and paintings made throughout Tom of Finland’s artist career, integrating them with Carne Bollente’s iconic embroideries and prints. This special collaboration continues to not only reflect our desire to present the artist to new generations but to highlight the humouristic part of his work, a hidden side which was lesser known to the public eye.”
As Tom of Finland consistently defended sex-positivity through his art, fighting for LGBTQI+ rights. The artist and activist not only affirmed his own gay sexual identity but glamourised it which
gives significant confidence to gay men at a time when many had internalised homophobia and sexual guilt. Therefore, it is an important and also absolute honour to work with the Tom of Finland Foundation again.
This time, the collection includes not only tee shirts and hoodies but also other exciting items such as jackets, knit tops, blankets and beach towels.

Tom of Finland Foundation
In 1984, the nonprofit Tom of Finland Foundation (ToFF) was established by Durk Dehner and his friend Tom. As Tom had established worldwide recognition as the master of homoerotic art, the Foundation’s original purpose was to preserve his vast catalogue of work. Several years later the scope was widened to offer a safe haven for all erotic art in response to rampant discrimination against art that portrayed sexual behaviour or generated a sexual response.
Today ToFF continues in its efforts of educating the public as to the cultural merits of erotic art and in promoting healthier, more tolerant attitudes about sexuality.
