“Bye Bye”, a new video from Berlin-based indie duo Free Free Dom Dom, is about the end of a friendship, but you might not know that from the bright, catchy melodies. Cheery singer Little Voice frolics around Tokyo in their latest single – an homage to antiquated technologies and retro home recordings.
There is a tongue-in-cheek DIY quality to the video, belying the careful synth arrangements of the song. It’s a jubilant three minutes of loose, fun energy. The infectious song builds up steam as Little Voice reaches higher octaves, somehow celebrating her break-up with triumph and empowerment. Yay for renewal and spring! (words by Keith Telfeyan)
