Video Premiere: WLDRNS – Gryningen Dog I Mina Ögon

Stockholm-based WLDRNS drop the strangely serene video for ‘ Gryningen Dog I Mina Ögon’ by Gothenburg-based multi-artist, World Klas Production. “We wanted to create a video that captures the song’s personality,” explain the band, “The beautiful and tranquil combined with the more messy, irregular and skewed. The result was a mini-psychedelic video that could be an episode in the third season of Twin Peaks, in addition to a longer clip with a sad cat in the middle.”

WLDRNS started with the two main songwriters writing songs in different sublet apartments, eventually hooking up with a third friend with studio equipment to explore sounds and slowly begin recording. The first music from WLDRNS to be heard by others was instrumental music for an art exhibition, where WLDRNS also made their first public performance.

This was followed by the more pop-oriented Wilderness EP (2014) and The world is not ours EP (2015), with songs like Vallsundet, Hold on and Tomorrow will be different receiving attention from listeners and blogs around the world. The two EPs were compiled as the album Vallsundet 1924 to be released in Thailand and southeast Asia on Colorcode records. The release of the album came about as WLDRNS made their first gigs outside Sweden on an tour in Asia (Singapore, Taiwan, China, Thailand) in 2015.

In 2017, WLDRNS released the double single WLDRNS 7”. The release was celebrated by a gig in a basement in Sthlm and a tour in Indonesia (where WLDRNS finally played in Bandung, the city that gave name to Bandung city rockers from the second EP) and Thailand, where WLDRNS played Big Mountain Music Festival.
