London-born, Grammy Award-winning producer, artist, and songwriter YOGI shares his new single “Ride or Die,” a charged collaboration featuring Toronto singer and rapper SadBoi and Tokyo’s NENE. Released today alongside its official music video, the track connects three distinct cities and musical worlds into one uncompromising record.
Following his earlier single “ANGREZE,” which introduced a new body of work exploring immigrant identity and cultural duality, “Ride or Die” expands YOGI’s sonic vision outward. Compact and built for immediate impact, the track moves at a relentless pace driven by distorted low-end, clipped percussion, and a dark, hypnotic pulse. YOGI’s production fuses the bass pressure of UK club music with the rhythmic intensity of South Asian percussion, creating a tense meeting point between underground electronic music and contemporary rap.
Representing Toronto, SadBoi brings a cool, seductive melodic command to the record, drawing on her West End Caribbean roots and the energy of Toronto’s underground nightlife. Joining her is rule-breaking Tokyo rapper NENE, known for her solo work and her role in Yurufuwa Gang, who cuts through the production with agile delivery and fierce attitude. The accompanying visual brings this global exchange to life, featuring footage of SadBoi and NENE filmed in their respective hometowns.
The release places YOGI within an increasingly visible generation of British Asian artists reclaiming space in underground electronic music. Rather than treating South Asian musical influence as an accent, YOGI makes it foundational, pushing the grit and physicality of its percussion into darker, bass-driven territory to deliver a fearless, borderless track.
