Alphonse Maitrepierre and Emmanuelle Khanh sign a capsule Couture eyewear collection “The comb”

For Summer 2021, the vision of Eva Gaumé and Alphonse Maitrepierre combine to create a capsule of three sunglasses. From his own research on the history of grooming, a form of vanity that he considers an intricate activity that is both personal and fun; the work of Alphonse Maitrepierre around the comb inspires the starting point.

This limited edition, made entirely by hand in France, will be distributed from May in selected stores and online at ek.fr and maitrepie.re

This collaboration is born from an irresistible desire for creative freedom, sealing an artistic and friendly partnership, where creativity and savoir-faire combine. Around the glasses, which transcend 2 silhouettes as well as creative disposition, Emmanuelle Khanh and Maitrepierre assert a joyful spirit with a dual personality.

I like the idea of an object that is amusing, functional and vintage at the same time.
I have been interested in mixing a Boudoir aesthetic with an ultra futuristic design for a while

— Alphonse Maitrepierre

Together they represent hybrid sunglasses that are wearable, exceptional and Couture all at once. They remain a fashion accessory incorporating a sig- nature of audacious style. This collab revisits a rectangular frame based on the EK 9010; a unisex 1980s style with comb-shaped temples available in three different colourways.

The choice of material is a reference to classic tortoiseshell which is traditionally used in manufacturing both high-end combs and eyewear accessories.
