B-Movie: Lust & Sound in West-Berlin

Well, you think you’re a Berliner? You know all the David Bowie and Einstürzende Neubauten stuff? Your hair is black like a night next to the Mauerstreifen and collect the B-Sides of Westbam? If, this movie will be a totally waste of time for you. Watching the art scene of West Berlin grow must be unnecessary…

But if not then welcome to the world of Mark Reeder. A British musician, lost in Berlin at the end of the 70’s. A grey zone after Dutschke and before the fall of the Wall.

l&s2Life was cheap and rough, a lot of young artists were able to live here and so this enclave of creativity grew up. Reeder met and portrayed all of them: Nick Cave, Blixa Bargeld, Nena and Westbam. They all started as outlaws, their developments are surprising.

This movie is a collage of forgotten days, an essence of what made Berlin the Berlin, that offers us so much freedom and opportunities. The soundtrack is amazing and it’s awesome to see all of our idols growing up. www.b-movie-der-film.de
