During Berlin Fashion Week last week, DAGGER returned with its highly anticipated Spring/Summer 2027 collection, titled “Lifestyles of the bored and disenfranchised.” It was easily one of the presentations we liked most this season, delivering a raw, nostalgic energy that felt both incredibly genuine and structurally polished.

For SS27, designer Luke Raines takes us back to the coastal seaside town of his youth—a place defined by an active early-2000s skate scene and the backdrop of his own misspent teenage years. Bathed in the bright lights of fairground rides and the warmth of the summer sun, the collection is a brilliant homage to teenage firsts: first jobs, first cigarettes, first kisses, and first heartbreaks. Late-night parties in the dunes transition into early-morning walks of shame that are recontextualised here as walks of pure liberation.
The garments translate this distinct optimism of youth—that specific, fleeting moment when you first begin to grasp what lies ahead and who you might become. Rather than chasing fleeting trends, DAGGER focus on growth and continuity, bringing back many of the same characters first introduced during their AW26 Play Hard show. We watch these characters evolve and form their identities, and in doing so, we watch the brand refine its own visual language.

The styling was anchored by a close collaboration with Vans, who joined DAGGER once again to unveil a series of customised Slip-Ons reworked specifically for the runway, while Shark Beauty provided the essential backstage support to prepare the cast.
Capturing the raw, youthful spirit and the chaotic beauty of the presentation from behind the scenes, photographer Anna was on hand to document the show. Her backstage photos perfectly highlight the candid, nostalgic energy and the textured details of the garments, offering an intimate look into one of our favourite showcases of the week.
