The creative mind behind this stylistic endeavour, Gorka Maeztu, paints a vibrant picture not just of jewellery but of an exploration of identity and attraction. His avant-garde selection, showcased within the DONUT STUDS collection, harnesses the power of AI-generated portraits and moving images to challenge our perceptions of self and connection in our increasingly digital age.

At the heart of this artistic venture is a unique backstory involving two trailblazers, Gorka Maeztu and painter Stefan Goertz, who have each carved their niche in the German creative landscape. Maeztu, with his origins in the Basque Country, recognised Berlin as the perfect canvas for his jewellery designs soon after he arrived in 2011. Meanwhile, Goertz, transitioning from Cologne to Berlin in pursuit of a larger platform, saw his artistic visions morph into fashion when he founded “Haute Kuki” shortly after.
Their partnership blossomed into the family-run label “HAUTE KUKI & Die Markise,” where Goertz’s exquisite abstract acrylics find a home on Maeztu’s jewellery, embodying a harmonious blend of art and craftsmanship. Each piece, crafted with the utmost care and attention to detail, stands as a testament to their shared artistic spirit and dedication to quality.
