Dennis Chuene presents “DENNIS WHO”?

Berlin Fashion Week – In his debut fashion show DENNIS WHO?, South African designer Dennis Chuene set out to combine his own perspective on sustainability and fashion with his self-identification as an African designer. As part of Berlin Fashion Week, the designer presented 30 avant-garde looks at stilwerk KantGaragen in Charlottenburg. He was supported by the Berlin Senate Department and the Fashion Council Germany.

Dennis Chuene is one of the winners of the design competition “Berlin Contemporary”, which was sponsored by the Berlin Senate Department for Economic Affairs and Energy and implemented by the Fashion Council Germany. The “Berlin Contemporary” format celebrates its premiere during Fashion Week. The concepts of all the 18 winning designers share certain defining characteristics – sustainability, innovation, and inclusion.

Self-aware representation with sustainability at the core of the brand

The Dennis Chuene label focuses on upcycling, craftsmanship, fabric manipulation and design innovation with functionality. In 2005, the eponymous designer founded his label. He began by upcycling tartan bags originally woven in China, transforming them into modern bags with greater usability and functionality.
