Hello. Welcome to KALTBLUT. Why have you decided to participate at FASHIONCLASH Festival?
IM: Participation in FASHIONCLASH Festival is a new experience for me personally and communication chance in a international level.

Can you tell us something about the collection you presented at the FASHIONCLASH Festival 2016? What was your inspiration?
IM: The conceptual meaning of the collection associates with a other sphere /dimension, a thought up space, where 8 human like characters try to see them in a different way, also finding a way to survive by not destroying everything around them.  The character of the collection is man, who could be a sacral creature, for example a monk from a futuristic planet. He has a bright mind, charisma and goodness.

What kind of material did you used for the collection?
IM: Collection characteristic lines lie in minimalism, conceptualism and the deconstruction of fashion design. The process of preparing the fabrics is hand work, each piece of the fabric (cotton) is hand painted, and the pieces are finished with a decorative line work, highlighting the constructive structure of the silhouette. Fabrics I used for collection “Othersphere”: neoprene and cotton.

What challenges did you face during the design process?
IM: When making the collection Othersphere it was important to create a united set of characters, developing a distinguishable mood. By contrast in the technical development it was necessary to create a monumental form in the silhouettes, deconstructing the classical shirt, so to make a monochromatic colour scheme in the different graduations of costume paintings.

How would you describe your self and your work?
IM: Fashion for me is painting and architecture. When creating fashion, i see it as a architectual form and space, which is to be filled with colour. I see the characters, each as a art piece, which is to be polished to the smallest detail, just as with a painting.

Tell us about your journey that led you to this point.
IM: In the beginning it was painting, which launched a deeper interest in people and body as a whole, this was mainly the key factor in creating conceptual fashion, creating characters with a meaning.

What would you say this is the biggest influence to your design process?
IM: It most definitely is human, a imaginary character, that has influenced me the most to creating fashion that speaks to the surroundings.

If you had not become a fashion designer, what would you do instead?
IM: I would be painting and taking care of my garden.

Who’s your dream client?
IM: I don’t know yet. Maybe some creature from a future planet.

What was the first item you have ever designed? And who was the lucky one to get it?
IM: My first collection Ores, cosmic costumes of nun’s was my first experience. And it was not werable.

What can we expect from you in near future?
IM: It will be Wearable art.

Where can we buy your fashion?
IM: For the time being I am working on it. But soon probably at Notjustalabel.com
