Fairytales, darkness entwined with light, supernatural creatures, occultism and mourning also are heavy influences in her work. Martika graduated at Amsterdam Fashion Institute, Fashion & Branding in 2016, including succeeding in the minors Fashion & Editorial Branding (honours programme), and Fashion & Visual Culture. She’s a self-taught photographer, photo editor and retoucher.

Inspired by the 18th-century Victorian mourning rituals whilst capturing the emotions of sadness and anger mourning embodies.
