Italian classic meets German Art House – Boggi Milano vs KÖNIG GALERIE

Boggi Milano celebrates Art Basel with KÖNIG GALERIE

During this year´s Art Basel, the Basel Boggi Milano store has transformed itself into a platform for extraordinary personalities from the art scene, becoming an under the Radar Hot Spot for art lovers through the collaboration with the KÖNIG GALERIE. THE German gallery of the moment. KÖNIG GALERIE was founded in Berlin by Johann König in 2002, and currently represents 39 international emergings and established artists, mostly belonging to a younger generation.

On the first day of Art Basel, the presentation of the fourth issue of the KÖNIG MAGAZINE by KÖNIG GALERIE has taken place at the Boggi Milano Store in Basel in the presence of gallery owner Johann König.

Boggi Milano is the Italian fashion brand with a passion for contemporary everyday style and known for its commitment to offer excellent experience in store. “Opening” its stores to art and art experience is a way to give a new twist to all of this.

In order to make the relationship with contemporary art more “accessible” to the Boggi Milano customers – elegant gentlemen striving for style and quality – the artwork “Field of Visions” by Danish artist Jeppe Hein was exhibited in the store for the entire duration of Art Basel. Jeppe Hein’s interactive work is “a reflection about the limitations and possibilities of the act of seeing”. With his work “WHO AM I WHY AM I WHERE AM I GOING”, the Danish artist adorns the cover of the fourth KÖNIG MAGAZINE and with his “Modified Social Benches” he is one of the highlights of this year’s Biennale di Venezia. www.koeniggalerie.com

Boggi Milano on the event with KÖNIG GALERIE and Art Basel

“The new path undertaken by the Boggi Milano company is characterized by internationalisation (just in DACH the brand opened 9 stores in the past year) and strong creative impulses (the collections underwent a more fashion-oriented makeover, without losing the typical Boggi Milano core values of elegance and timeless style). Which better way to celebrate this by organizing an event in the city where the most international art fair takes place and to get in touch with the medium where the creativity is given free rein? For this special occasion, they’re hosting an event together with König Galerie, because the gallery and the high profile roster of artists it represents, incapsulates Boggi Milano values like creativity, innovation and inclusivity.

“Just like Salone Del Mobile in Milano, Art Basel has definitely become one of the places to be on the international event calendar. It manages to involve the whole city as its playground with the “Art Parcours”, a unique art promenade where the city highlights are turned into art hotspots. This inspired Boggi Milano to transform their Basel store into an art platform through the support of one of the best galleries in Europe and let the Boggi Milano clientele have to the possibility to “experience” contemporary art.”

Since 1939 Boggi Milano, the Italian menswear apparel brand creates and designs contemporary men’s fashion, taking care of all aspects, from production to distribution, in order to propose and spread its style and quality all over the world. Constantly expanding worldwide, the brand is the expression of the Italian excellence dedicated to a contemporary, modern and cosmopolitan businessman.
