Summer is officially over, and it’s getting colder again. But, before that, there’s going to be one last big festival – the Berlin edition of Lollapalooza. The line-up is jam-packed with loads of international and local artists, such as Kraftklub, Casper, Milky Chance and Machine Gun Kelly, to name a few. KALTBLUT had a look at the line-up and picked out four artists you definitely shouldn’t miss if you’re going.
The festival is set to take place at the end of this month on the weekend of the 24th and 25th September in Berlin’s Olympiastadion & Olympiapark Berlin.
- Purple Disco Machine
Playing on the first day of the festival, the German producer is set to bring along some warmer temperatures and good vibes with them – even if it’s just with their poppy disco set. A fusion of retro pop mixed with some electronic elements, Purple Disco Machine has found the best of both worlds between commercial pop sound and nostalgic electronic beats.
- Zoe Wees
I’m very excited about seeing Zoe Wees live – though, her music is generally more commercial than what I usually listen to, she’s got an incredible, unique raspy voice that gives her songs an added layer of emotion and depth.
- Fritz Kalkbrenner
This last summer, I’ve seen Fritz’s brother at pretty much every festival, which now makes it more than appropriate to finally see the younger Kalkbrenner. Fritz Kalkbrenner adds a nice layer of electronic to a line-up that’s very heavy on pop and indie.
- Seeed
If there’s a festival in Berlin, it only seems appropriate to have the multifaceted group Seeed headline one of the days. A versatile mixture of genres and languages is what makes their songs so special. When I spoke to the singer Lie Ning about his first encounters with music, he told me about his love for the band and their capability of creating a welcoming and inclusive vibe.
These are just four of the many artists we’re excited to see at this year’s Lollapalooza Festival in Berlin. Check out the full line-up below and get your tickets here.
