“Stereotypes associated with masculinity as synonymous with an absence of emotionality and weaknesses continue to do damage and are difficult to eradicate.
Being sensitive, and expressing one’s emotionality and vulnerability are still taboos that die hard for some men. Patriarchal culture makes people believe that a ‘real man’ must always be strong, suppress his emotions and weaknesses, flaunt perennial confidence and often even consider himself a step above women. Man must be a symbol of power.
Yet just add a ‘d’ and power becomes powder.
