MODALISBOA COMUNIDADE – Buzina Fall/Winter 2021/22

Buzina’s collection for Fall/Winter 2021/22 is a point of reflection of a line of continuity that the brand has sought to follow. CLOUD is influenced by the ‘metropolitan baroque’ of Baixo-Minho, where Vera Fernandes was born and still works today. Backstage photos by Gonçalo Silva @goncaloasilva

The design of the volume, the outline of the silhouettes and the profuse details refer to the ‘fat forms’ of the decoration of the eighteenth-century churches of the Portuguese Northwest. The structures of the quilted dresses, with decorative geometric seams, seem to revisit the most popular tradition and clothing heritage of the region. Buzina continues to explore women’s unique identity and proposes three symbolic colours — purple, green and white — that appear as a graphic mention of the suffragette movement.

CLOUD: THE PAST IS KEPT, THE FUTURE IS OURS

Just like art, fashion can be used to express ideas, attitude and personality.  Nowadays, women use fashion as a way of acting, escaping from society standards and assuming their own identity. Fashion gives power and strength to women, reflects the decade’s evolution by leaving behind gender roles and the false idea that women compete with each other. There isn’t a body, a style or a predefined beauty pattern, but the authenticity of each woman.

Fashion goes beyond looks and shows values, attitudes and unique personalities. Women´s empowerment has come as freedom! Every woman is unique, so the clothes she wears must be as well. Having this idea in mind, the Portuguese brand BUZINA has born in 2016 to dress all women who love exclusive, different and versatile pieces on their wardrobe.
