The KALTBLUT team go the chance to talk to emerging menswear designer Ralph Rovero, talking about what inspires his bold yet wearable geometric designs. Instantly falling in love with the clam and sweet designer who truly is putting his heart into his designs. Lets take a moment to get to know Ralph Rovero.
KALTBLUT: Tell me a little bit about how Ralph Rovero and your journey that led to releasing your first collection?
RR: I worked in various parts of the fashion industry from styling, design and merchandising for a few years prior to releasing my first collection. I wanted to put all that I’ve learnt into a new challenge and starting my own brand was the next step forward.
KALTBLUT: How would You describe the Ralph Rovero customer?
RR: He’s an art kid through and through with a street smart sensibility. He’s a global traveller, loves to experience other cultures and this is reflected back into what he chooses to wear. He shops with a purpose in mind and explores to create his own style.
KALTBLUT: Are there any fashion icons who inspire Ralph Rovero?
RR: The British painter David Hockney has always been a true icon of mine. Just the way he uses colour in his work and personal style is just on another level.
KALTBLUT: What would you say makes Ralph Rovero stand out against then other brands?
RR: The brand exists to support freedom of expression to wear whatever you want. It’s to encourage guys to explore their own personal style with the brand and not about dictating what they should wear for a specific season.
KALTBLUT: What advice would you give to people who want to experiment more with the clothes they wear?
RR: Stop thinking about it and just go for it. You’ll thank yourself later.
KALTBLUT: What are your favourite pieces from the upcoming new season?
RR: I’m excited about our text block t-shirts. They’re really easy to wear, with a lot to say.
KALTBLUT: If Ralph Rovero was an ice-cream, what flavours would it be?
RR: Dulce De Leche x Sea Salt.
KALTBLUT: What was the last music track you listened to?
RR: Bloc Party – Like Eating Glass.
KALTBLUT: Finally, what can we expect to see from Ralph Rovero in the near future?
RR: Expect a wider range of products to drop this year and the launch of our e- commerce site.
