Paul Smith Men´s Spring/Summer 2024

Much like menswear itself, Paul Smith’s SS24 collection takes the classic suit as both its starting and ending point, offering a playful exploration of tailoring in all its forms. Drawing inspiration from the Paul Smith archive, the show presents “The Suit (But Different)” – a look-by-look redefinition of smart dressing that examines where tailoring ends and workwear begins.

Expect to see nods to classic menswear tropes, workwear and military uniforms, subverted in true Paul Smith style.

PAUL SMITH SS24: A Playful Exploration of Men’s Tailoring

While the art of tailoring is taken seriously, the collection is not afraid to have a bit of fun. Boxer shorts are paired with traditional suiting to form a ‘Breakfast Suit’, while relaxed, pyjama-inspired looks are styled with matching ties. A ‘Canadian Tuxedo’ of a denim trucker jacket and barrel-fit jeans also offers a confident take on archetypal menswear.

Overall, the SS24 silhouette offers a spectrum of precise, trim cuts in classic suiting fabrics and billowy, exaggerated shapes in lighter-weight casual materials. Military-meets-mod dominates the collection with utility-inspired shapes and detailing such as tab waists and wider lapels seen on suit jackets, stitched carpenter-style trousers, and six-button double-breasted jackets.

With guests including Matt Smith and Ismael Cruz Córdova, the Paul Smith SS24 presentation was a highlight of Paris Men’s Fashion Week.
