Alexandru Floarea is a fashion designer and a self-taught photographer based in Iasi, Romania. “Sexual state of mind” is a tribute to American photographer Robert Mapplethorpe, this year marking 30 years since his death. The endless gradation of shadow and light, both elegant and provocative, are the key elements of Mapplethorpe’ works and the catalyst that influenced Floarea to transpose them into fashion garments. This project aims a reappraisal of the view on human sexual nature.
