Thom Browne Spring/Summer 2023 Menswear

Thom Browne presented his Spring/Summer 2023 menswear collection during the men’s Paris Fashion Week. With this collection, Thom Browne is once more breaking established rules of classic tailoring and is giving a twist to the office and business look. The tweeds of the collection were custom developed in the south of France with materials such as chenille, denim, leather and lace. The theme of the collection was “period couture” which was underlined by a teaser the brand published on their socials prior to the show in which they insisted not to be late for the show.

The theme was then continued during the show with models and guests played by actors arriving late at the front row with the music being interrupted. The garments consisted of a mixture of classic tailoring with new and fun elements added such as bright colours, oversized, shrunken or elongated jackets, trousers, skirts and the emblematic jockstraps of this season’s collection.

Also part of the clothing were mini shorts, long trench coats, sloped shoulders, moulded set-in shoulders and trompe l’oeil skirts. Thom Browne, known for challenging the norms of uniforms proved once more to be an expert in giving classic tailoring a new twist and in showing his collection as part of a highly conceptual runway presentation which gave him and the brand worldwide recognition.
