With the collaboration Happy Hour Skateboards wants to continue to honor Tom’s legacy, as well as support diversity within skateboarding.

Helsinki-based Happy Hour Skateboards is proud to announce its second collaboration with Tom of Finland Foundation. Happy Hour Skateboards is the first ever skateboard company to collaborate with Tom of Finland Foundation. This second Happy Hour Skateboards x Tom of Finland collection includes two skateboard decks featuring original Tom of Finland drawings, as well as a limited edition clothing collection that includes t-shirts, hoodies and a tote bag.

Tom of Finland is one of the world’s most influential artists. From the late 1950s onwards he produced an impressive body of work, depicting strong, proud gay men. He plays a key part in the gay liberation movement, and is a pop cultural fixture that has influenced artists that include Robert Mapplethorpe, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Freddie Mercury.

The collection includes a real treat for Tom of Finland fans: The ”Just Cruising” deck and apperel features an early drawing of a happy lumberjack cruising down a river on a log – a scene of Finnish agrarian life. It ended up on the cover of Physique Pictorial, an early gay pin-up magazine, in 1957, marking the first time Tom’s work was published in the USA.
