Ucon Acrobatics – Motif 2.0

For 20 years, Ucon Acrobatics has been creating unique backpacks that combine sustainability with minimalist aesthetics. To celebrate this anniversary, the Berlin-based brand presents Motif 2.0, the second edition of the collaborative design project.

Fittingly, the focus is on the number 20: 20 artists from 20 countries have created 20 unique print designs. There will only be 20 backpacks of each design in this exclusive, limited collection. The project is exhibited and sold in 20 different cities around the world, including Tokyo, Paris, New York, Berlin, Tel Aviv and London.

The key look of Motif 2.0 is the Kito backpack model, which was recently awarded the Red Dot Award. Each motif will also be available on the Ezra Tote Bag, also in an edition of 20 pieces. All bags are manufactured to the highest standards and, as is customary for Ucon Acrobatics, made of recycled PET. Out of love for people, animals and the environment!

For Germany, Ucon Acrobatics is collaborating with the 3D artist and art director Manuel Carvalho from Berlin, who specializes in CGI with his works and is also a filmmaker. His artwork for Motif 2.0 is the combination of fine photography details with defined forms of pattern structures. The result is the intersection of two surfaces that look like
soft, liquid metal, which is criss-crossed with contrasting, rough tips. On November 12, 2021, its limited edition will be presented together with other artwork from the Motif 2.0 Edition at an event in Berlin.
