“Undercover is a portrait of a warrior. The kind of warrior which exists inside of each of us. The one who rebels for life, who wants to grow and take action. Our world is breaking apart, economically, ecologically and ethically. We can’t deny it. We need to break free, leave our comfort zones behind and engage actively into a new system, politically and socially. A system which teaches us empathy respects human rights follows social justice, tolerates different sexual orientations. A system which decentralizes power for more equitable participation. A system which regenerates our view towards ecological destruction to avoid nature to collapse. A system which is healthy, sustainable, resilient and courageous.
With this editorial we want to inspire to find the warrior inside of yourself to detach from obsolete fundamental moral opinions, suppressing believes structures and imprisoning behaviours and to set yourself free, to stand in for your and our future world.”

My physical presence irritates you because I want to challenge your perception. My manifestation follows freedom. My appearance is not bound to any existing rules. I set myself free.

Resi Bender is a costume designer, and a video/performance artist. In her work, she plays with perception, mythology, questions of identity and the intricate net of interconnectivity. She challenges expectations, behaviours and concepts of our current system with fictional documentaries, costumes and experimental movement. She endeavours to raise awareness of mankind’s destructive impact on the planet and ourselves. Calling on us to define a new value system to overcome our ego-, growth-driven and short-sided behaviour.
