Venus de Milo by Nika Kolesnikova

Photographer Nika Kolesnikova teamed up with model Alina Popova to create this modern vision of the famous Venus de Milo. The history of the creation of this sculpture tells that after the conquest of territories by Alexander the Great, Greek culture spread far beyond the borders of Hellas. History is cyclical and this is confirmed by the mixture of cultures and opinions that are happening now. Ideas about old principles change, and ideals take on other forms. In this series of works, Kolesnikova reflected on new ideals and the question “what is it, the modern “Venus de Milo”?”
