Video Premiere: Dirty Versachi – ‘Resting Power’

‘Resting Power’ is the follow up to Dirty Versachi’s debut single ‘Sticky Fingers’ which was released earlier in the year, receiving national airplay across community radio, coverage from to be Magazine, Pilerats and Frooty Magazine to name a few, plus adds to Spotify’s Just Chill and Fresh Finds playlists which have attained more than 65,000 streams. Teaming up with co-producers Moses Carr, Andrew Huhtanen McEwan (Huntly) and mixing engineer Tim Watt (MUTO, Golden Features), ‘Resting Power’ allows Dirty Versachi the space to explore and grow their identity through new sounds and creative ideas, in pursuit of a more sonically expansive creative project than their previous works and collaborations. Catch Dirty Versachi DJing at Hunger Digital’s online Virtual House Party Love Lockdown this Friday 10th September, from 8:30pm AEST.

I hope people resonate with the concept of finding their ‘Resting Power’ – maybe they don’t have to stay in a shitty relationship, or they can honour their needs, and the process of doing so doesn’t have to be so serious. I wanted the song to feel light-hearted and fun, because that’s what self-love feels like to me.

“The music video explores feelings of isolation and paranoia due to being in lockdown. It was filmed with assistance from my housemates in Melbourne, Australia. We had to work within the restrictions of our COVID-19 lockdown in order to make the film clip happen, which meant doing everything DIY. We turned our entire house into a studio and invested in learning new skills such as green screening in order to make our concept come to life. This film clip was ended up being heaps of fun to make and in a strange way, has kept me sane, despite the film clip exploring the contrary.”
