Wooyoungmi presented their Spring/Summer 2023 collection during the men’s Paris Fashion Week at the Musée des arts décoratifs. Woo Young Mi, the creative head behind the brand was reintroduced to their archive from the early 2000s and she realised the likeness between the look of those garments and the way the youth is dressing today.
The Y2Y looks from the brands archives were the perfect inspiration for the Spring Summer 2023 collection. The theme of the show was auctions and so it started with the voice of an auctioneer. The idea was all about the process of renewal and the re-evaluation of the past trough the eyes of the present.
The garments presented included tailored suits merged with outerwear in cotton-mixed hemp and cotton-poly blend in emblematic colors of black, navy, brown and beige contrasted by bright colors of the knitwear pieces in royal blue, frog green, shocking pink and digital lavender. The goal was to create the idea of a wardrobe collaged from parental pass-me-downs and vintage store finds.
