RaKi combines new textiles and pattern making with rediscovered vintage treasures, to create one-off piece unisex collections. Addicted to travel, exotic materials and inspiration are collected along the way to form the basis of the next collection. This freeform approach to the design process helps create a freedom from the pressure of mass production. This makes any general description of Raki´s work a difficult task. but certainly a playful and elegant recycling of exciting colour and pattern combinations, underpinned with folkloric influences.
RaKi is currently in Shanghai, where she has co-curated a selection of independent designers for a showroom with Sameheads. She also sells in selected stores in Osaka and Tokyo, Japan.
