Introducing 72 HOURS by Emily Dodd-Noble. A Berlin-based photographer who has recently completed the project 72 HOURS. The work features analogue photographs taken during the underground rave scene, in Berlin, lockdown 2021.
I moved to Berlin December 2020 and the images depict the moment in which I met people for the first time.Within the mainstream party scene in Berlin, photography is prohibited so these images depict a scene that is otherwise unable to be documented.
“The images showcase communities that prior to Covid were submersed in the club scene, however, due to Covid, these images just depict what was going on underground. Within Berlin the party scene did not go away just because of Covid, it simply shifted. The queer party communities simply found other safe spaces to go and these images are a love letter to those that found these spaces because they needed to feel connected to like-minded others and express themselves.”
Emily Dodd-Noble is a Berlin-based, analogue photographer who looks to capture the raw and genuine, intimate moment of interaction between herself and the subject matter Dodd-Noble focuses on the beautiful authenticity of one’s personality, and their unapologetic sense of self.
Dodd-Noble attends voguing balls, queer underground parties, drag shows and queer festivals, with the intention of photographing people from queer, non-binary, BIPOC and LBGTQIA+ communities. Through her, photography Dodd-Noble aims to show people the strength of their uniqueness and allow them to celebrate how their true self, despite being different, is immensely beautiful.
