Casper Sage presents “Change Your Mind” as a reflection on what follows a breakup and as part of his upcoming “PATINA” EP. The song focuses on a specific emotional state, the uncertainty of not knowing what comes next or whether you’re losing something or stepping into freedom.
“Can’t tell what’s approaching, what I’m losing, I just can’t slow it down” opens the track and clearly defines its emotional core. From there, the song moves into an uplifting chorus where the energy shifts with “Give me room to go and fly, I’ll give you room to change your mind / If you want to, you’ll always be a guest of mine.” The lyrics suggest a form of release that doesn’t fully close the door, capturing the tension between letting go and holding space. This idea runs through Sage’s exploration of memory and release.

Musically, Sage blends contemporary alt-R&B with subtle ’80s influences, particularly through the use of synths. The transition from restrained verses to a more open chorus feels natural, allowing the track to build without losing focus while maintaining that warm, immersive atmosphere that defines this phase of his sound.
This new material also marks his first phase after “SAGEhaven” (2025), an EP that expanded his reach and strengthened his fan base. With tracks like “Roadrunner” featuring midwxst and “NuDivision” with Amindi, the project gained attention from outlets such as BET, Billboard, and Rated R&B and placed him on Complex’s list of artists to watch. More recently, he has maintained that momentum with singles like “bits + pieces” and “I’m dying to feel alive again,” further shaping the sonic and emotional landscape leading into “PATINA.” With these releases, Sage refines and expands his approach rather than shifting direction.
Casper Sage grew up in Oklahoma City, where he began exploring music independently, guided by what he discovered online. He taught himself how to produce, play, and write, later refining that approach in Nashville while studying at Belmont University. From his early independent EPs to the present, a clear throughline emerges about using music to process his experiences, often navigating the tension between nostalgia and personal evolution.
“Change Your Mind” avoids overexplaining, instead capturing a specific moment and developing it with clarity, offering a glimpse into the emotional core of PATINA and the direction Casper Sage is moving toward.
