Creams’ spine-chilling EP “PIE” encapsulates a fervent desire and fearless passion across its four tracks. With captivating songwriting, she paints a vivid mythical world that serves as a mesmerizing commentary on survival. Exploring themes of monsters and castles, Creams creates a dystopian backdrop that perfectly complements her beautifully twisted sound.
Mixing unconventional vocals, off-kilter production, and a dark yet playful energy, this extraordinary music represents a unique blend of contrasts. It confidently showcases Creams’ ability to craft music that is both composed and wild, confrontational and vulnerable, fantastical and hyperreal all at once. “PIE” is a testament to this artist’s fearlessness in experimenting with her craft and carving her own path in the current musical landscape, all while staying true to her distinctive voice and commanding punk attitude.
The lead single, “Let Me Fight,” was born out of Creams’ personal journey with mental health. It serves as a gritty battle cry, with eerie production allowing her lyrical prowess and hollered vocals to take center stage. By choosing to fight rather than flee, Creams reclaims her power in an empowering display. The focus track, “PIE,” presents a different energy to the EP, evoking a playful and sparse production reminiscent of a retro 90s video game. Creams’ thought-provoking and vivid lyricism truly shines through in this track, transporting listeners into a world that tantalizes the imagination. “Suffocating” is a dizzying number with its intricate beat composed of industrial sounds and percussion, building up to a grand finale with an explosion of horns. Meanwhile, “Day ‘N’ Night” provides a twisted lullaby-like experience, further showcasing Creams’ versatility and range.
Notably, three out of the four tracks from the EP are featured in the visually awe-inspiring short film, “PIE.” This masterful creation further solidifies Creams’ position as a trailblazing artist who champions the art scene in Georgia. Collaborating with fellow artists from her community, Creams brings her love for storytelling, artistic vision, and mystical imagination to life in this captivating visual representation of the EP. The synergy between the music and the film creates a captivating and cinematic experience from start to finish.
