‘Fault Line’ is the new release from Kendall Amon – A very clean, light, and honest song that fully embodies Kendall’s style

This has been a great year for Kendall Amon in artistic terms since she managed to position, not one, but 5 of her songs as part of the “10 Truths About Love” film’s soundtrack, by February. An experience that opened many doors for her and catapulted her into the industry as a composer and songwriter. Despite having enjoyed and learned from the experience, it is far from a destination, it is instead the very starting point of her career. and what a starting point!

In the ever-changing landscape of music, where hundreds or more are born each day in the quest for growing audiences, you’re only as good as your last single, and now Kendall is releasing ‘Fault Line’, a very deep and emotional song which started as a modest line that she wrote in her journal.

“I wrote ‘we were betting on borrowed time. Don’t wanna live on a fault line’. I wanted to capture the feeling when you’re in a toxic relationship and you feel like at any moment everything could implode and you could be left with the wreckage”, Kendall said.

That same line was presented to Jesse Bluu who produced and co-wrote the song with her, resulting in a very unique lyrical piece that in Kendall’s words “can be applied to so many life circumstances because living on a fault line is living in the unknown. It is limbo, always wondering whether you are before or after the end.”

In hindsight, now that we’ve tasted her talent, it seems absurd that music is the passion that Kendall Amon was about to put aside to pursue a “safer” career choice. However, happily, the pandemic confronted her with her true desires, and today, she walks and conquers her followers with the evidence of this passion, alongside a healthy dose of style and attitude.

Musically speaking, ‘Fault Line’ can very easily transmit the author’s desperation without any bombastic sounds or too many melodramatic flairs- in itself this can be a huge balancing act. The song feels very clean, light, and honest, which aligns with what we know of Kendall’s style.

Her voice is definitely the thread binding it all together, the perfect complement to her vulnerable and evocative songwriting that gives us a window into her inner world.

Nothing Kendall ever does feels forced in the song. The voice, the melody, and the lyrics flow harmoniously and in perfect balance.

Kendall inside

Said by herself, she started singing and playing the piano when she was 7 years old and that eventually evolved into writing her own songs. She is inspired by iconic songwriters like Joni Mitchell, Carole King, and Stevie Nicks and more contemporary artists like Julia Michaels, Chelsea Cutler, and Phoebe Bridgers as well.

Many of her original songs revolve around love or heartbreak as a way to better understand the nature of these intense and sometimes all-consuming human emotions.

“I’m a really lyrically-driven writer, I love words, I toil over them. I graduated from undergrad with a biology degree and a creative writing minor. I was applying to medical school, I did the interviews and had a quarter-life crisis between the pandemic and reevaluating my priorities. I realized that I was choosing a career path out of fear rather than out of passion”.
