With their unique indie electro-funk style, French Horn Rebellion (FHR) is back on the music scene with Brothers, a new four-track EP that’s as much a tribute to their roots as a treat for fans and an invitation for new listeners.
Brothers Robert and David Perlick-Molinari, originally from Milwaukee, returned to their Brooklyn-based studio, YouTooCanWoo, to produce an EP celebrating brotherhood while tackling toxic masculinity.

Robert shares, “As brothers, we often hide our feelings behind a facade of ‘toughness.’ That said, the bond we share runs deep. I believe that when we reach the other side, our brothers will greet us first in the afterlife, with open arms.”
The EP kicks off with The Legend of Johnny Crash, a fully instrumental track that opens with a powerful French horn line, setting the tone for the rest of the collection. The title track, Brothers, serves as the heart of the EP, capturing the strength of a sibling bond that can withstand any challenge, distance, or circumstance, forging an unbreakable connection that transcends all obstacles. The EP also includes Hopes of a High School Football Star and Broken Hearted Fool, both released previously on their YouTube channel.
The duo was formed in 2007 when Robert, a French horn student at Northwestern University, had an epiphany: he would trade classical music for electronic beats, blending his instrument with electro-funk to create something fresh. Joining forces with his brother David, a respected producer, their music quickly evolved from a playful rebellion against the classical world into a genre-defying movement that would captivate dance floors around the globe.
After years of collaboration, French Horn Rebellion has released three albums and numerous EPs, earning recognition from major outlets like The New York Times, Billboard, The Huffington Post, The Guardian, and LA Weekly. Their passion for electronic music has not only garnered widespread acclaim but also led to official remixes for high-profile artists like Beyoncé, Sia, and Two Door Cinema Club, as well as taking their live performances to five continents.
French Horn Rebellion’s devoted fan base is moved by the band’s energetic beats, classic instrumentals, and synth-pop vocals that blend the best of the 80s and 90s with a contemporary edge and a touch of playful critique.
