The upcoming exhibition at the Bauhaus-Archiv / Museum für Gestaltung in Berlin will showcase approximately 300 striking photographs that highlight the contributions of these visionary artists. While iconic images may be familiar to many, their creators remain largely unsung. This exhibition brings to light the pivotal role these women played in shaping the photographic landscape and celebrates their extraordinary artistic legacies for the very first time.

Complementing the Bauhaus collection, the exhibition will also feature works from women artists of the New Bauhaus in Chicago, the successor to the original movement in the USA, inviting a rich dialogue between historical and contemporary practices.

In a nod to the ongoing exploration of photography in the 21st century, the Bauhaus-Archiv has invited three contemporary artists, Kalinka Gieseler, Caroline Kynast, and Sinta Werner, to respond to the historic works, bridging past and present while challenging traditional notions of the medium.
