Palazzi – Collection, The Berlin Issue by Ama Split and Riky Kiwy

Palazzi (the Italian word for “buildings”) is a photobook with a collection of analog pictures that show some pieces of buildings or entire buildings of Berlin, put together in a graphical way using “translation” and “big enlargement” methods. rikykiwy.bigcartel.com

We consider buildings and architectural structures as geometrical objects and also as ornamental subjects. Time passes through them and to show this “stain of time”, we chose to make a layout with the technique of the Translation of points. The result is an image, with a lot of colors and also a rhythm, very geometric. We photographed several buildings and architectural structures in Berlin with analog cameras and the use of a zoom. We are really sensitive to colors and patterns and the use of the zoom puts the light on details. We combined pictures and translations of pictures to create a moving effect.

This “Palazzi” is the number 1 of a Collection. The 2nd one will be about a city in France and the 3rd will be photographed in Italy.
