Abini is a Nigerian name and often leads to confusion about her German roots. Abini Gold is a 29-year young film director and photographer based in Berlin, Germany. She has a degree in journalism and in 2014 she took up her studies of film-directing at Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg.
Turning emotions into images link her passion for film with photography. Photographer Robert Frank is an important source of inspiration for Abini’s work. A Robert Frank quote has impressed and guided her for many years now – “The eye should learn to listen before it looks.“
