London based, subversive post-punk trio deep tan prepare to release their sophomore EP, ‘diamond horsetail’ with a sweatmother directed video for the title track. The regular black vinyl edition to the EP will be released on 22nd July, with the “piss-kink yellow” Dinked Edition now Sold Out. deep tan explains that their new single is: “three minutes of menace, five litres of revenge: the title track of our new EP diamond horsetail is one we’re particularly excited to start playing live. also, KLF stans: there’s something for you in the outro.”
There’s power in direct eye contact, and subverting the traditional gaze back on itself, the gaze in this work is directly breaking the fourth wall on purpose while cementing the agency in the power to return the gaze or to look back? queer revenge is hot. queer revenge is revolutionary. queer revenge is what revolutions are made of. queer revenge turns me on. and this is a visual report of that.

The ‘diamond horsetail’ EP features previous singles ‘beginners’ krav maga’ and ‘rudy ya ya ya’, the former of which is a dark and haunting track with dissonant guitars in response to the idea that women should take self-defence classes. On ‘rudy ya ya ya’, deep tan have recorded the first known diss track to Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, with a distinctly angular and immersive energy.
