Since 2015, producers Fizzle and Fiji Kris, alongside photographer and art director °awhodat°, have created a body of work that has proven to be both eclectic – incorporating elements of trap, glitchy blues and melancholic dub – but also coherent, bound together by a clear, monochrome visual identity. Their choice of collaborators has taken on a similar bent, ranging from mainstays of the German rap scene to breakout talent, which has seen them work with the likes of AnnenMayKantereit, Dendeman, Haiyti, Kool Savas and perhaps most notably and notoriously the Leipzig-based rapper Trettmann.

KitschKrieg’s self-titled debut LP maintains a similar formula, with a slew of featured artists, such as Jan Delay, Peter Fox, Modeselektor, Nena, RIN and Ufo361, with Trettmann also making an appearance. Comprising skeletal beats with pop flourishes throughout, the project reflects a gamut of styles and micro-genres within rap, while still offering moments for sombre introspection. The accompanying capsule collection for the release takes cues from KitschKrieg’s own austere aesthetic, and includes reworked staples, in the form of a hoodie, vest, pocket t-shirt, sweatpants, and printed coach jacket. The collection is rounded off by a duffle bag and a Delta neck pouch.

The capsule will also be accompanied by an exclusive limited edition 7-inch vinyl, as well as a photobook, archiving their journey to this point in their signature black and white aesthetic.
