Joe Gray originally started his journey in photography capturing images of himself and friends riding BMX. As semi-professional riders, heavy partying came with the territory, and Joe’s style naturally transitioned into a punk-documentary vibe. Wanting to elevate his craft, Joe enrolled in a commercial photography program, enhancing his grasp of photography fundamentals. Armed with the gritty aesthetic from his BMX shooting and the newly imparted knowledge from the commercial program, Gray began documenting the heroin and methadone epidemic on the streets of Boston. Eventually, this Led to bringing subjects to his apartment to be photographed. Now, Joe works from his home and studio in Brooklyn. Euphoria is a strong representation of his honed aesthetic, enhanced by the artistic styling of his close-knit team.
